NORTH NORFOLK

|
Where is Norfolk?
It is on the east coast of England, about 150 kilometres
north-east of London. Its capital, Norwich, is about 100 kilometres
from Cambridge. |
How do you get there?
You can fly directly to Norwich, via Amsterdam or you can
fly to one of the London airports – Heathrow, Gatwick,
Stansted, or City Airport and travel to Norwich by bus, train
or car. Trains from London to Norwich take 90 minutes.
There is a direct coach connection from Heathrow, Gatwick
and Stansted to Norwich; and there is a coach every ten minutes
from City Airport to Liverpool Street Station, where you can
catch trains to Norwich every half hour. |

Where is Excellence in English?
Excellence in English is in two different places –
at the homes of Peter Maingay and Catherine de Lara , the
two people who run the organisation. Both of us live in North
Norfolk, not far from the sea. |
What is special about Norwich and North Norfolk?
Norwich, the regional capital, is a beautiful cathedral city
with a large number of very old churches and a lovely open-air
market. The old mixes happily with the new, with excellent
shopping, several first-class cinemas and theatres and a wide
range of pubs, cafes and restaurants. |

|
 |
North Norfolk is famous for its wild and varied coastline,
with both cliffs and salt marshes. You can sail, swim, walk,
watch birds, visit old churches, stately homes and castles or
simply relax in one of the many wonderful pubs, where you can
try the excellent local beer and home cooking. |
Not far from Norwich are the Norfolk Broads – rivers
and lakes where you can spend the day sailing or on a motor
cruiser.
It is a very beautiful region which very few people know
about apart from English people. Come and try it: you won’t
be disappointed!
You will enjoy the beauty and charm of North Norfolk
