A Human Resources director of a large
Swiss company attended a two-week course with Excellence in
English
in the summer of 99. The course was prepared specially for her,
partly by pre-course planning and partly in response to her wishes
as the course progressed (which is the way we run all our courses).
After pre-course negotiation, we arranged a timetable of fours
hours
intensive classroom tuition in the mornings with a focus on the
spoken and written English she needed for her work in Human Resources
and Personnel Management, and two-or three-hour informal lessons
in the afternoon, when her tutors would often take her out on
trips
to different parts of North Norfolk. On these trips, her tutors
talked to her a great deal, correcting her when necessary. She
stayed
with one of the tutors as part of the family and enjoyed a busy
and varied social, sporting and cultural programme, which was
specially
arranged to suit her interests.
